An Amazing Weekend Ahead at Papa’s

The skies are blue and the winds are calm…it’s going to be an amazing weekend to be outside, and Papa would love to see you at the pumpkin patch!

By the end of Friday, we will have four more trailer loads of pumpkins in the yards, and one semi load of specialty varieties. We unloaded one pumpkin on Wednesday night that was so “substantial” it took a sumo wrestler stance to get him lifted out of the trailer! We’re sure you can find small ones and big ones; tall and short ones; white and orange and green and warty and pink and striped and in between ones.

Papa’s is open 12-7 pm daily. Over the weekend, concessions will be available 12-7 pm. In addition, the zip lines, hay rides, pony rides, train rides, pumpkin cannon, trebuchet and sling shots will all be open from 12-5 pm.

Extra Activities on Thursdays at Papa’s

New for 2012: the Touchstone Nature Trail bridge and slide combo.

It’s almost Thursday and that means extra fun for visitors to Papa’s Pumpkin Patch. You’ve told us you want more of the weekend activities available during the week so this year, on Thursdays from 5-7 pm, you’ll find all kinds of things to do at Papa’s!

Just like everyday, all of the free activities are open. This includes the log jam, the bale mazes, Papa’sville, the Corn Crib, Slide Mountain, the Corn Maze, the Touchstone Nature Trail, Billy Bob the Corn Stalk Horse, the Pumpkin House, Mr. Antique, the Great Pumpkin’s Chair, obstacle course, slack line and more.

On Thursdays from 5-7 pm, we also add: Zoomin’ Zip Lines ($1/zip); Sling Shots (4 shots/$1); pony rides ($4/ride); horse-drawn hayrides ($2/ride); Sebastian’s Train Ride $1/ride) and Marv’s Monster Wagon Ride ($1/ride). Plus, the Pumpkin Air Cannon and the Trebuchet are also shooting and they are free.

70s and Sunshine This Week at Papa’s

It looks like a beautiful week ahead for Papa’s Pumpkin Patch and all of our guests. According to the forecast, we can expect temps in the 70s through the week, maybe even 80 degrees on Monday.

If you and your family or friends come out after school or work this week, be sure to bring an extra layer along. Once the sun drops down behind the big cottonwoods, the cool air sets in quickly.

Papa had a very busy weekend and we expect to haul in more large pumpkins and special varieties all this week. Enjoy fall and we hope you stop by soon (or again) to visit us at Papa’s!

Meet the Lunch Ladies at Papa’s!

You’ll never believe who decided to visit Papa’s yesterday: it’s the Lunch Ladies! True. Honest. This variety of uber-sized gourds is called Lunch Ladies and they’re an exclusive in North Dakota at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch.

In fact, the ladies brought some of their “new variety” friends that Papa will feature over the next few days. Want a hint? Think wee-sized for one variety. Think pink for another variety. Think sweet for yet another.

Dress warm today. The high temp will be close to 60 – perfect fall weather and perfect for a trip to the country and Papa’s Pumpkin Patch! The patch is open 12-7 today. Admission is $3/person. Infants and toddlers 2 years and younger are free.

Remember Thursday evening Papa opens many of the weekend attractions from 5-7 pm. This week, we welcome Basin Electric employees to Papa’s on Thursday. Join them and you’ll be able to ride the Zoomin’ Zip Lines, try out the trains, go for a horse-drawn hay ride are get the little ones a pony ride. And that’s in addition to all of the FREE things to do!
